Film producer ventures into TV serials

October 23rd, 2009 Prakash Raj is directing Naanu Nanna Kanasu; the remake of Tamil hit Abhiyum Naanum. The film will star Tamil actor Ganesh Venkatraman, who also played an important role in the Tamil version.

October 15th, 2009 Popular heroine Bhoomika, has turned a producer and is producing a film ‘Thakita Thakita’ under the banner of Downtown Films, under the direction of Srihari Nanu of ‘Satyabhama’ fame. The film will have new faces in the lead role.

September 23rd, 2009 The success of Prem Kahani at the box office has made its producer, KM Viswanath very happy and he is doing his best to promote the film. August 5th, 2009 The state-run Sri Kanteerava Studios in Bangalore has planned to come up with 150 theatres in ‘B’ and ‘C’ centers of Karnataka with a view to encourage Kannada cinema. The project is with private sector and industry participation and is estimated at around Rs.200 crores.

July 16th, 2009 BANGALORE - Popular film and television actor Mina Chandru died of liver complications in a private hospital here Thursday afternoon. He was 44. He is survived by his 40-year-old wife Shobha, a theatre artist, and 10-year-old son Mithra.

June 11th, 2009 MUMBAI - Well-known Bollywood producer-distributor Subhash Sagar, eldest son of late Ramanand Sagar, died here after prolonged illness, a family source said. He was 72. He died at the Lilavati Hospital where he was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit a few days back.
