November 5th, 2009 LONDON - A presenter on a popular BBC television show has drawn complaints after describing Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip as that Greek twit and his Kraut wife. TV actress Miranda Hart made the comment on the news comedy show, Have I Got News For You, while discussing recent comments made by Prince Philip about Indian-origin Britons.

October 9th, 2009 Reliance’s Big Pictures has taken two Malayalam movies, Mammootty starrer Kuttysranku and Abohamaan to the 14th Pusan International Film Festival. The films will be featured in the Asian Cinema Section of the film festival.

October 8th, 2009 PANAJI - The India premiere of Oscar Award winner Ang Lee directed Hollywood film "Taking Woodstock" was held at a multiplex in Goa. The premiere of the film was held at the Inox multiplex Wednesday.

October 7th, 2009 PANAJI - While drugs, hippies, parties and all-pervasive bohemia may be a Goa politician's nightmare, for rock singer and musician Uday Benegal they are probably the perfect setting for a Woodstock music festival. Benegal, who is here to attend the premiere of the Ang Lee film "Taking Woodstock" Wednesday, hastened to add that he was not advocating the use of drugs.

September 11th, 2009 LONDON - English director Guy Ritchie has confessed that he suffers from short-term memory so much so that he even finds it hard to recall that a film is his own, if ever he's watching one. The 41-year-old has directed a number of pictures, including gangster movies like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "Snatch" and "RocknRolla" but constantly working on films has affected Ritchie's memory so much that he often has to re-acquaint himself with his ventures, reports imdb.com.

July 19th, 2009 LONDON - Michael Jackson's brothers Marlon, Randy and Tito are set to stage a Jackson 5 reunion for a Jamaican music festival as a tribute to the late King of Pop. The three brothers will perform a mix of Jackson 5 songs and solo hits at the Reggae Sumfest starting July 19 to 25 July, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

June 19th, 2009 BHOPAL - Vivid hues of tribal art, life and culture from all over the world found expression at the three-day International Festival of Films on Tribal Art and Culture that began here in Madhya Pradesh Friday. The festival will showcase 60 films and documentaries from over 40 countries, including India, Argentina, New Zealand, the US, Romania, Kazakhistan, Czech Republic, Nigeria and Egypt among others.

May 3rd, 2009 India’s most-acclaimed filmmaker, Adoor Gopalkrishnan, inaugurated Nila National Festival of Dance and Music, organized by Kerala Kalamandalam, at Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur on Friday.
