October 3rd, 2009 MUMBAI - Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was on Saturday released from Mumbai's Arthur Road jail after furnishing a surety of Rs 50,000, four months after he was arrested on charges of allegedly raping his 20-year-old domestic maid. The actor has spent more than three months in jail and was granted bail on a surety amount of Rs 50,000 by the Bombay High Court on Thursday.

October 2nd, 2009 MUMBAI - Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Friday said that termed Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar's apology to MNS chief Raj Thackeray as a 'filmi stunt'. Karan apologized to firebrand MNS chief on using the word 'Bombay' instead of 'Mumbai' in his new film 'Wake Up Sid' was nothing but Chavan further said that Maharashtra Government was capable of providing security to filmmakers, and emphasized that Johar should have approached state police if he had any problem.

October 2nd, 2009 MUMBAI - Filmmaker Karan Johar got a rude wake-up call Friday when Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists protested the use of 'Bombay' instead of Mumbai in his latest movie "Wake Up Sid" as soon as it was released. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma, is the latest offering from Dharma Productions Pvt Ltd.

October 1st, 2009 MUMBAI - The Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail to Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, who has been in judicial custody for over three months for allegedly raping his domestic maid. Ahuja has been granted bail on submitting a surety of Rs 50,000.
