“If I ever feel down about my age, I like to console myself with the thought that I’ll always be younger than Madonna.” MARIE OSMOND, 50, likes to remind herself the Material Girl is a year older.
“I adore Mercy, she is such a sweet child. She’s doing so well. Hopefully when she’s older she can be in my videos too, like the others. She could have some moves. Who
knows?” Singer MADONNA has big plans for her newly adopted Malawian daughter.
“I’m not obsessed any more, now that my teeth are all rotten.” Pop superstar MADONNA has given up on her dream of working in a candy shop.
“He’s a bit impulsive… He needs to put a lid on it. I do think he’s very talented, but he gets a bit confused.” MADONNA on KANYE WEST’s outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards. The rapper took to the stage at the event to protest Taylor Swift winning the Best Female Video prize over his pal Beyonce.
“I’m just a normal, hometown girl from Michigan… I’m that and I’m also royalty.” MADONNA feels regal.
“You have to be old enough to dress yourself… Usually, guys my age are either married or divorced and, like, grumpy, fat and balding.” MADONNA likes young lovers - but not that young.
“(Lourdes is) trouble with a capital T! She’s got a mind of her own. But it (parenthood)’s a great job. I wouldn’t change my job for anything but it’s also extremely challenging. Teenagers!” MADONNA, a single mother of four, admits bringing up her daughter LOURDES, 12, isn’t easy.

“I had my girlfriends paint my body with fluorescent hearts and flowers. I wore a pair of shorts and a midriff top, and I just went mad… I’m sure everyone thought I was insane. That was the beginning of my provocative performances, I guess.” MADONNA recalls a rendition of The Who’s Baba O’Riley, which launched her love for performance.
“I see myself in LADY GAGA. When I saw her, she didn’t have a lot of money for her production. She’s got holes in her fishnets, and there’s mistakes everywhere. It was kind of a mess, but I can see that she has that IT Factor. It’s nice to see that at a raw stage.” MADONNA is full of praise for the younger singer.
“She’s really into hair and make-up, so she does a lot of experimenting. She’s very talented. She could absolutely design her own line of clothes, she’s got great style. Everyone asks her what she thinks of their outfit. Her, not me.” MADONNA is convinced her daughter LOURDES has a career in fashion ahead of her.
“He’s my biggest fan. Everybody says that when he watches the show, he stays frozen from beginning to end, and he studies everything, and he knows every dance step. He’s not jaded like my older children.” MADONNA on adopted son David.
“How can you be like a virgin?” MADONNA questions her signature hit.
“I don’t know where San Pedro is. At that point, I wasn’t a person who went on holidays to beautiful islands. I may have been on the way to the studio and seen an exit ramp for San Pedro.” MADONNA on the inspiration behind her ‘Last night I dreamed of San Pedro’ line from her hit LA ISLA BONITA.
“He’s an incredible musician who plays 50 different instruments, and I’m always a little intimidated by him. I always think he looks down on me… (because) I’m a pop star. He’s a real musician… He’s usually sitting in the corner, playing chess or playing some 16-stringed instrument that I don’t even know the name of.” MADONNA gets nervous around STING.
“I’m silly and geeky and nerdy and not cool.” MADONNA insists she’s not as cool as some fans seem to think she is.
“My house is like a Benetton ad. I have French nannies, my security guards are Israeli, I have assistants from Argentina and Puerto Rico and well as a Japanese assistant and chef, and another chef from Italy. It’s wonderful.” MADONNA likes her international household.
“I’m not saying I’m not sexy and provocative, but I’m a one-man woman when you get down to it.” MADONNA believes in monogamy.
“She’s really great. I guess I could say we’re friends. We got along famously. I love her daughter Lourdes.” LADY GAGA bonded with pop superstar MADONNA and her daughter when the stars teamed up for a skit on U.S. TV sketch show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE earlier this month (Oct09).
