WASHINGTON - Actress Katie Holmes has dismissed reports that she has been offered a role in ‘Sex and the City’ sequel.

The 30-year-old actress star was tipped to play the role of a feisty businesswoman rivalling Kim Cattrall’s maneating character Samantha Jones in a follow-up to the 2008 box office smash.

According to GossipCop.com, Holmes’ representatives have denied the reports, insisting there is “no truth” to the claims, reports Contactmusic.

Meanwhile, the actress recently escaped a serious accident when the car she was sitting in for a movie scene nearly caught fire.

The BMW’s bonnet started emitting black smoke moments after the she started filming for her upcoming horror flick ‘Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark’.
