“Like the Rolling Stones” was from AJ–and he meant only that the Rolling Stones are in their 60s, but are still out there making live shows. The Backstreet Boys intend to keep going doing what they do for another 30 years. None of the Backstreet Boys are delusional enough to think their musical legacy will be like the Stones. But of course, critics and editors will twist their meaning to give just one more reason to critcize them.

I think the Backstreet Boys meant they wanted to last as long as the Rolling Stones-be on the stage at 60 still doing what they do. They don’t think of themselves as a rock band at all, never did-they are a vocal harmony group aka The Temptations.
