Hrithik, Bipasha receive IIFA Style Icon awards

Priyanka beat Katrina Kaif to the top spot and Hrithik left behind actor-director Farhan Akhtar at the inaugural edition of the India Youth Icon Awards organised jointly by Wizcraft Entertainment and electronics major Videocon at the Leela Kempinski Hotel here Friday night.

June 22nd, 2009 MUMBAI - The much-talked about Hrithik Roshan starrer "Kites" is scheduled for December release and producer Rakesh Roshan and director Anurag Basu have also agreed on how different the English and Hindi versions of the film would be. The supposed steamy scenes between Hrithik and his co-star Barbara Mori would be the same in both versions.

June 16th, 2009 MUMBAI - They are known for their acting skills, but Hrithik Roshan and Akshaye Khanna also have some talents that the world knows little about - singing and dress designing! Hrithik mesmerised all and sundry with his singing and Akshaye surprised guests with his designing skills at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards extravaganza that concluded in the Chinese town of Macau Saturday. Hrithik sang "Tere jaisa yaar kahaan..." at an impromptu 'antakshari' music session conducted by actor Boman Irani, while Akshaye came dressed in his own creation - a formal suit.

June 15th, 2009 The tenth year of IIFA surpassed all expectations with a spectacular show that saw epic movie Jodhaa Akbar bag most of the top Awards. Shah Rukh recieved the male Star of the Decade, while Aishwarya Rai, Bachchan's daughter-in-law, was adjudged the female Star of the Decade.

June 13th, 2009 MACAU - Director Ashutosh Gowariker's magnum opus "Jodhaa Akbar" Saturday bagged the maximum awards in the technical category at the IDEA International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards here. While ace designer Neeta Lulla walked away with the best costume design award for "Jodhaa Akbar", best editing trophy went to Ballu Saluja and best art direction to Nitin Chandrakant Desai for the Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai starrer historical romance.

"The idea really is to be as expansive as possible to reach various parts of the universe and go places which are relatively unheard of as far as Indian cinema is concerned and be able to carry our cinema there," said Amitabh Bachchan in a conference in New Delhi.

May 30th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Yesteryear's superstar Rajesh Khanna will be given the lifetime achievement award at the 10th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Macau next month. Rajesh, who gave hits like Aradhana, Kati Patang, Anand and Amar Prem, will be felicitated at the award ceremony of the 10th IIFA celebrations on June 13, an IIFA press statement said.
